Our mini pillars and tealights are made with 100% Beeswax and nothing else.
Our scented jars and wax melts are made with a Beeswax and Coconut Wax blend, mixed with high quality paraben/phthalate free fragrance oils. Beeswax is the hardest of waxes and does not hold fragrance very well, so we blend in a smidge of Coconut Wax to be able to create a scented product.
For those who love the light of a good jar candle, but are not interested in the fragrance, our jars also come in unscented that just gives off a faint honey aroma from the beeswax.
All wicked products use a cotton braided wick.

Candles in the big box stores can be filled with toxic ingredients that can create health issues when burned in our homes.
I set out to find a better option than paraffin or soy.
Enter beeswax.
The golden nectar at the heart of my products.
The soft honey smell, and the warm glow that Beeswax creates is what makes me feel grounded. It’s been used for centuries for a clean and steady burn. It's renewable and it is a little more kind to people with fragrance sensitivities.
Beeswax is created by bees themselves. It’s not synthesized or a byproduct of a nasty chemical process.
Tallwoods candles are made from a material that already exists in nature. No petroleum, no unnecessary additives, just what the bees made.

Essential oils are single notes, derived from plant materials, usually through steam distillation or cold pressing. We all love them for their therapeutic properties, because essential oils are extracted directly from plants, allowing them to carry the essence of nature within them.
Fragrance oils are re-creations of scents, using various ingredients. Fragrance oils could range from 100% naturally derived to completely synthetic. So, fragrances are not strictly made up of essential oils, but could contain essential oils, depending on the fragrance.
While fragrance oils can contain natural components like essential oils, they are considered synthetic, because not every ingredient may be natural. Tallwoods Candle Co. has chosen to use high quality fragrance oils because they are formulated to be safe in final products and perform consistently.
All fragrance oils used by Tallwoods Candle Co. are paraben and phthalate free and are designed specifically to be used in natural candle products.

Fragrance oils are created using a blend of various synthetic chemicals and naturally derived chemicals to create a smell. Solvents are always used (every single fragrance has a solvent in it, that is how it stays liquid and usable), and some of those solvents can be derived from natural ingredients and some cannot.
That doesn’t make them harmful, it just makes them not plant derived. We have worked closely with our perfumer to choose fragrances using either 100% naturally derived ingredients, or mostly naturally derived ingredients. Sometimes, in order to get a fragrance to work well in a candle, it just can’t have the naturally derived ingredients.

Always trim your wick to 1/4" (inch), every time before you light a candle.
Candles burn best for 2-4 hours:
2 hours allows the wax to melt to the edge of the jar.
Burning longer than 4 hours can begin to scorch the wax or fragrance oil or create an erratic flame.
Always stay present with a lit candle and be sure to keep it away from other flammable materials and drafts.
Melted wax, flames, and their containers will all be very hot. Do not touch. Assess your own space and protect your surfaces. Stop burning when 1/2" (inch) wax remains.
If the flame is ever 2+ inches, smoking, or flickering, extinguish the candle.
Pets and kids love to enjoy the glow, but should not interact or be able to reach the candles, these are for adult use only.

Watching these mini pillars burn is part of the experience.
Observing how the wax melts, runs, and pools & how the flame behaves is grounding, and also important for safety.
All candles have the ability to drip and spill wax.
All rocks have the ability to scratch surfaces. Assess your own space and protect your surfaces.

Our products are hand poured, and that means things can sometimes get a little messy. Slight variations like color or texture may happen, but if your product is not matching your expectations, we want to know that!
If the flame is ever 2+ inches, smoking, or flickering, extinguish the candle. Allow to cool, trim the wick to 1/4" (inch), and re-light.
We stand behind our products and appreciate your communication.
